Visa Application Process

Step 1: Determine the Appropriate Visa Type

Step 3: Schedule an Appointment

Book an appointment with the designated Visa Application Center or embassy/consulate.


Step 4: Complete the Application & Gather Documents

Fill out the visa application form accurately. Based on your travel purpose, we will assist you in organizing and preparing the necessary supporting documents to ensure your application is complete.


Step 5: Attend Your Appointment

Arrive on time at the Visa Application Center or embassy/consulate. Submit your application and biometric data (fingerprints and photograph), and pay the applicable visa fee.


Step 6: Track Your Application

Monitor the status of your application online using the tracking system. You’ll need your application reference number and date of birth.


Step 7: Receive Your Passport

  • Omani residence permit valid for at least 3 months from the date of return (should be in current valid passport).

  • Employed: Original letter from employer

  • Self-employed/investors: Valid original trade license

  • Sponsored: Sponsorship letter and sponsor’s documents

Frequently asked questions

Yes, if you haven’t given biometrics for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months, you must provide fingerprints and a digital photo.

The documents are to be presented in (or translated to) English/Spanish.

Parental authorization signed by both parents authorizing the minor to travel (with or without parents). Photocopies of father and mother’s passports have to be attached to the authorization.

Children under 12 years old are exempt from fingerprinting but still need a digital photo. Children aged 12 and above must provide full biometrics.

Original letter from employer/sponsor (stamped and signed) stating employment status, position held, date of recruitment, length of contract, whether renewable or not, salary and the purpose of trip including the contact details for the employer.

 If somebody else is sponsoring the trip, a sponsor letter (with signature), the sponsor’s bank statement and the sponsor’s passport copy (with signature) have to be submitted. 

If the Embassy of Spain in oman or the General Consulate of Spain in Muscat are unable to return the application to you because they would like to request additional documents, schedule you for a personal interview or require additional time to correspond with Home Office, this update is normally sent in a letter individually addressed to the applicant, and remains at the Spain Visa Application Centre until collected by the applicant or an authorized representative.

The Spain Visa Application Centre can also courier your application to you as long as the address provided by you is serviceable by our courier partners, Blue Dart Couriers.

Once the application has been processed by the Spain Embassy/ Consulate General and your passport has been returned to the Visa application centre,,you will need to bring your receipt and acceptance proof with you for collection of your passport. For Passback (return of passport) timings, please visit the Contact us page.

 In your absence, along with your receipt an authority letter from you in the name of your representative with his Identity proof Photo copy will be required.

Processing usually takes 10 to 15 working days. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required.

Apply at least 15 to 20 working days before your trip but no earlier than 6 months before your travel date.

Yes! covering the territory of the Member States of the Schengen Agreement and with minimum coverage of EUR 30, 000 for medical expenses, repatriation and evacuation.

No, an interview is not mandatory. Most applications are processed based on submitted documents. However, in some cases, the embassy may request an interview if they need additional information or clarification.
