Day 1 Sofia

Welcome to your tour with Europamundo! We’ll transfer you to the hotel and you’ll have some free time. In the afternoon, you’ll find information about the start of your tour on the boards located at the hotel reception.

Day 2 Sofia

In the morning, we’ll tour the capital of BULGARIA and visit Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (admission included), the Russian Church, the mosque, as well as the city’s squares and avenues with Stalinist architecture. We’ll also visit the National Museum of History (admission and guided tour included), which offers a fascinating overview of Bulgaria, showcasing Thracian gold treasures, Orthodox icons, and medieval artifacts. It is one of the largest and most prestigious history museums in the Balkans. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 3 Bachkovo & Plovdiv & Sofia

We will depart from Bulgaria’s capital and travel to the capital of the Thrace region, an area of great historical importance. Our first visit will be to the Bachkovo Monastery (admission included), founded in the 11th century and the second largest monastery in Bulgaria. Surrounded by mountains, it preserves unique frescoes and a spiritual atmosphere that blends Byzantine history with Bulgarian tradition.We then continue to PLOVDIV, Bulgaria’s second-largest city. Upon arrival, lunch is included, followed by a panoramic city tour of one of Europe’s oldest cities. Admission is included to the Roman Amphitheatre, the Ancient Pharmacy, and the Armenian House. Afterwards, free time to stroll through its charming historic streets and explore its small local shops.

Day 4 BURGAS & Plovdiv & SOZOPOL

Today we travel towards the Black Sea, enjoying pleasant scenery along the way. Sozopol, on the Black Sea coast, is one of Bulgaria’s oldest cities and one of the best at preserving its historic charm. Its cobblestone streets and traditional wooden houses blend beautifully with beaches and a bohemian seaside atmosphere. The old town features a wide selection of small restaurants. Free time for lunch, strolling through the center, or relaxing on the beach.In the afternoon, we continue to Burgas, Bulgaria’s fourth-largest city and its main seaport. The city combines modern avenues with an extensive seaside park. Free time to stroll and enjoy dinner before heading to the hotel.

Day 5 BALCHIK & BURGAS & NESSEBAR & VARNA

After breakfast, we will depart for NESSEBAR, one of the oldest cities in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded by the Thracians, it later became a Greek, Roman, and Byzantine city. Its historic center is located on a small peninsula in the Black Sea, connected to the mainland by an isthmus, and preserves around 40 churches built between the 5th and 18th centuries. Time to explore the city and enjoy lunch.We then continue along the Black Sea coast to the Aladzha Monastery (admission included), a site rich in spirituality and legend, surrounded by forests that enhance its mysterious atmosphere. The monastery impresses visitors with its chapels and cells carved directly into the rock.Our journey continues to the Balchik Palace and Gardens (admission included), the former summer residence of Queen Maria of Romania.Arrival in VARNA in the late afternoon. Bulgaria’s third-largest city, Varna features a pleasant and lively city center and a large seaside park.

Day 6 Arbanasi & SHUMEN & VARNA & Veliko Tarnovo

After breakfast, we head inland through BULGARIA. Our first stop is the Madara Rider (admission included), an 8th-century rock relief unique in Eastern Europe and a national symbol of Bulgaria, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.We then continue to SHUMEN, a city shaped by both Ottoman and Bulgarian history, where we will see its 18th-century mosque; the largest in the Balkans outside of Turkey. Lunch included.Next, we travel to Arbanassi, a former merchant town with fortress-like houses, where we will visit the Church of the Nativity (admission included).Our journey ends in VELIKO TARNOVO, the former capital of Bulgaria, where you’ll have free time to stroll through its very picturesque medieval center set along a dramatic gorge.

Day 7 Basarbovo & Bucharest & Veliko Tarnovo

We’ll travel to Romania, stopping along the way to visit the Basarbovski Monastery, a pilgrimage site carved into the rock. We’ll then cross the border and the Danube, arriving in Bucharest around 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon, we’ll take a panoramic tour of the city, exploring the historic center and the impressive Palace of Parliament. You’ll have free time afterward to explore on your own. Dinner will be included.

Day 8 Bran & Bucharest & Sighisoara & Sinaia

Today’s journey offers stunning scenery as we travel to Transylvania, crossing the Carpathian Mountains and lush forests. In SINAIA, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the gardens of the Peles and Pelisor Castles. Our next stop will be the 14th-century Bran Fortress, commonly known as Dracula’s Castle (tickets included). After some time for lunch, we’ll continue to SIGHISOARA, a picturesque walled medieval city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a special dinner at Count Dracula’s restaurant, located in the house where Vlad the Impaler was born.

Day 9 Alba Iulia & Hunedoara & Sibiu & Sighisoara & Turda

After breakfast, we’ll head to the <strong data-start="124" data-end="143">Turda Salt Mine (entrance included), one of the most spectacular mines in Europe, with origins dating back to Roman times. Inside the mine you’ll find health treatments, an underground lake with boat rides, a Ferris wheel, and a vast hall reaching 80 meters in height.We then continue to ALBA IULIA, a city steeped in history and a symbol of Romanian identity. Its imposing Alba Carolina Citadel, built in the Vauban style, houses churches, museums, and monumental walls, and is famous as the site where the union of Transylvania with Romania was proclaimed in 1918. Free time to stroll and have lunch.Our journey continues to HUNEDOARA, where we include entrance to Corvin Castle, a 15th-century fortress and one of the most impressive examples of Gothic architecture in Europe.We then continue on to SIBIU. Arrival and accommodation.

Day 10 Bucharest & Cozia convent & Sibiu

In the morning, free time in SIBIU, the former cultural capital of Transylvania, founded by Saxon settlers and preserving a historic center full of charm. Its medieval squares, Gothic churches, and colorful houses with “eyes” on their roofs earned it the title of European Capital of Culture in 2007 and a place among Romania’s most beautiful destinations.At midday, we depart back toward the Romanian capital. En route, we’ll stop in COZIA, home to one of the oldest and most valuable monasteries in Wallachia, renowned for its Byzantine frescoes and its beautiful mountain setting. The atmosphere of popular devotion here will surely impress you. Afterwards, free time to stroll and have lunch in this spa town. Arrival in BUCHAREST around 6:00 p.m.

Day 11 Bucharest

After breakfast, our journey will come to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
